The Asus UX21 Ultrabook arrives!

The innovation imposed by Apple with the Macbook air, the ultrabooks or ultrathin laptops, will be extend on September with new models that the worldwide known brands, like Asus, will mass-produce in order to challenge the Tablets.

Asus announced that its UX21 will be available on September and will feature the Intel core second generation processors, SSD storage and instant-on capabilities for quick start. It will also include a 3.0 USB port, audio output, Displayport, mini HDMI port and an SD memory card reader.

With an 11.6 inch widescreen and a lightweight design of 1.1 kg, it features a Chiclet-style keyboard that matches the glass touchpad. It measures 17 mm in its thicker part and the battery life promises to be around 7 hours.

HP, Dell, Acer and Lenovo want to join Asus to seduce the consumers looking for a Macbook Air with something more than Apple’s operating system. The key to success will be if they manage to reduce equipment weight and thickness at a lower cost.
